WHAT IS MYOFUNCTIONAL & SPEECH THERAPY?
Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy works to correct any maladaptive behaviors affecting chewing, swallowing, and breathing caused by weaknesses and/or imbalances of the orofacial muscles. Its goals are: nasal breathing, accurate tongue resting posture, efficient swallowing function, and efficient speech.
Speech therapy is the broad term for therapy treating disorders in fluency, speech production, language, voice, resonance, feeding/swallowing, cognition, and auditory rehabilitation/habilitation.

LEASA WATTS
I hold a Certification of Clinical Competence with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, and a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. I am working toward certification in orofacial myofunctional therapy through the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy.
